Free Online Dating Service Helps Me Get Rid of My Deepest Fear

I had a very difficult childhood. Things were normal until my parents got separated when I was quite young. But things turned into worse when my mum got remarried. My stepfather was a complete maniac. Constant arguments between my mum and stepfather soon became a norm. He wouldn’t bother about any family responsibility and was a very violent kinda guy. Often he harmed my mum physically when he would become hyper. I couldn’t understand what my mother saw in that guy that she fall in love and got married to him. Even though I was not my mum’s best friend (I guess I could never forgive her for separating me from my dad!), but I used to feel deep sympathy for her.

It’s been long since I am on my own. But May be witnessing the bitter relationship all through my growing up years have affected me a lot. I don’t know why, but I could never feel like committing to a relationship. I am quite good looking with a pretty good figure and height, so it’s only natural that guys during my university days expressed interest to go out with me. Initially when I was saying No to them, my friends would think it’s only because I don’t like these guys. But when it happened each time, they had a strong doubt that something else is the problem. How can it be possible that no guy is up to my preferred choice criteria? They even tried to set me on blind date with the best friends of their boy friend. But I would refuse each time by citing any lame excuse.

I never confided about my bitter childhood to anyone except my best friend Juliet who was my friend from junior school days. She could very well understand what my real problem was. It’s not that I hate guys or like any particular guy, it’s about my lack of trust on them. i could not just rely on them. So one day on our meeting over coffee, she suggested me about free online dating service. I was surprised at first as how she could advice me something like online dating. But Juliet assured me that she understands me that well, that’s why she is suggesting me this. Free online dating service is not like any regular blind date setting. I would have the liberty to chat with a guy, to know him better and then decide about dating him or not.

On her constant persistence, I agreed to give free online dating service a try. After all as the online dating service was free, I had nothing to lose! I created my profile and soon enough I was flooded with messages. Some of the profiles who sent me messages were too good! I joined a few of them on chat room of the free online dating service. It’s been only a few days, and now I feel Juliet was absolutely right. Earlier I had a put a barrier between me and guys in general, that’s why I couldn’t give them a chance to reach out to me. Now with free online dating service, I feel slowly that barrier is gonna collapse. And who knows soon enough I will find someone really interesting who I would like to date!

Dating and Single Parents: Challenges Met Along the Way

Whether youâ??re a fifteen-year-old girl whoâ??s out on her first date ever with the boy next door, or a forty-year-old single dad of three kids whoâ??s out on his first date with a friendâ??s coworker three years after a painful divorce, dating poses a lot of challenges that need to be overcome before it can be exciting, as it is should be. However, the challenges for single parents are undeniably greater, but this shouldnâ??t deter you from testing the waters. Overcoming the challenges is part of the fun, and the first step is identifying what they are so that you wouldnâ??t be caught off-guard. For your quick reference, hereâ??s a list:

1.) Your children are resistant to the idea of you dating. You want to go out on dates, but your kids want the exact opposite. The best thing you can do is to have a heart-to-heart talk with them. Help them realize that although youâ??re planning to let someone else into your lives, theyâ??re still and always be your top priority.

2.) You donâ??t have time to go on dates. Even though this may be true for some people, for most, it is merely an excuse. You can squeeze in time for dating if youâ??ve completely opened yourself up to the idea. For one weekend, hire a trusted babysitter or ask a close friend to look after your kids. For once in your life, make time for yourself.

3.) You donâ??t know where to find dating prospects. You finally decided to try out dating, but you donâ??t have anyone in mind. Itâ??s time to join organizations and clubs that focus on your hobbies and interests. By building your social network, you are also increasing your pool of possible dating partners.

4.) You think that not a lot of people would want to go out with someone who has excess baggage. Youâ??re not very excited about dating primarily because you think your children are perceived by many others as an unwanted complication. Though that may be true for some people, but for others, they just donâ??t care if you have kids. The one thing they care about is whether or not youâ??re compatible with them.

5.) You want to protect your children. You meet a wonderful person, but deep down you wonder if what you see is what you get. Donâ??t worry, youâ??re not paranoid. Stories of sexual predators and physical abusers may not happen everyday, but they do occur. To make sure that your kids are safe from shady personalities, get to thoroughly know the person youâ??re going out with before you let your kids get too close.

6.) Youâ??re afraid to get your children emotionally involved. Youâ??re worried that if you get hurt, your children will be hurt, too. This is one thing thatâ??s hard to avoid, because as their parent, your kids can pick up if youâ??re feeling miserable. However, you can help lessen the pain in the first place by keeping your private life away from your kidsâ?? eyes. They may know who youâ??re going out with, but they donâ??t have to know details about arguments and fights.

7.) You donâ??t want to be a serial dater. In the quest of finding someone you truly like, you may end up going from one person to the other if no one meets the standards you have set. Although for you this is just part of the process of finding someone worthy, youâ??re worried that youâ??re not setting up a good example for your children if youâ??re perceived as a serial dater. Again, talking to your kids regarding the matter helps a lot. Being discreet about your personal life also helps, too.

These seven challenges are just a few of what you will encounter once you start dating again. As youâ??ve noticed, most of them involve your children. This should come as no surprise to you, because you know that your kids will always be your concern. To make things easy for you, make sure that your relationship with your children is a solid one with a good foundation. If youâ??re a great parent to them, your kids will be more supportive of you.

Dating Moms Or Dads – 4 Facts To Keep In Mind

Fret not, though, even if you are thinking of dating someone with kids, for that’s just what we are here for – to give you useful, practical and workable tips for dating someone with kids! Take a look at the top 5 tips from our relationship management experts – and get your love-life grooving on the right track, too!

1. Understand that the dating game is equally tough for singles as it for those with kids, if not more complex for the latter group since when there are kids in the picture, things can take a whole new perspective on what it means to go out, spend time alone or even do plan dates when it means to have the kids to take care of. So, a potential partner, if you are interested in someone with kids, you need to display sensitivity towards the issue of dating someone who has their responsibility on her/his head without making them feel you do not appreciate the situation. With time, effort and patience, dating someone with kids can be a great experience as long as you ensure their feelings are taken into consideration too.
2. Not all romantic relationships involving children in the background need to end in failure; if handled maturely with the feelings of all considered, the relationship can teach new things about the relationship and the personalities of all people involved to everyone who plays an important role in the dating game. Arrange to meet your date’s children at a suitable time, though not necessarily on the first date, but perhaps when you know things are progressing to another level for both of you and the children should be in the know, too. You may prefer the parent of the kid/s to disclose the dating scene to the kids as they may not take too well to the ‘stranger’ telling them something Mom or Dad should be allowing them in on.
3. If things have gotten serious and marriage is being discussed, it is definitely time to let the kids in on the deal; do not rush into blurting out the decision to marry, but take time out to meet your partner’s kids, get to know them and make plans that include them as well in the arrangements as far as you can manage. This will take away from any feelings of hurt, helplessness or being side-lined as far as your partner’s kids may well be experiencing for themselves.
4. Work to eliminate any feelings of resentment, doubts and other negative emotions in the partner’s kids with you being in the picture and reassure them you are not trying to usurp their natural parent’s position (if missing due to divorce, death or other reasons) by that your partner (their parent) makes you happy and that’s what you’d like to share with them too.

Do not attempt to take the place of the absent parent in your partner’s life as the kids involved may resent this kind of intrusion or presumptuousness on your part when you are trying to bond with them. Instead, allow them to talk freely, share their feelings with you on the dating topic and others interests in their lives and clearly establish boundaries about mutual respect and love, discipline and how future decisions are to be made.
