One of the most forgotten elements of any wedding is the save the date card. In fact, some couples choose not to send them at all. If you want to give your guests a save the date card, you can send them with your invitations or you can choose to send them separately after your guests have replied. It is always a good idea to send your guests a save the date card. Here are the top five reasons why save the date cards make sense.

#1 – Some guests really could forget your wedding if you do not remind them.

It is not meant to offend you, and it does not mean that you friends and family members do not care about you. Sometimes, life just gets in the way and people need to be reminded of your wedding. Save the Date Cards for Your Bar Mitzvah – Do You Really Need Them?

Bat mitzvah and bar mitzvah save the date cards are a relatively new concept. They have increasingly grown in popularity over recent years.  But isn’t an invitation enough?  Do you really need to send out bar mitzvah save the date cards, too?

No, save the date cards are not an absolutely necessary prelude to your child’s bar mitzvah.  But there are some circumstances where it might be a good idea to consider.  Here’s some questions to help you decide.

1. Does your guest list include friends and loved ones from out of town?  If people have to travel to get to your child’s bar mitzvah, then sending save the date cards can give them extra time to make those travel arrangements.  The more advance notice they have, the better chance they have to track down airline and hotel discounts. They may also need to schedule vacation time so they can attend.

2. 3. Does the date of your child’s bar mitzvah coincide with any holidays or school vacations?  Take in account weekends around Thanksgiving and Columbus day or any holiday where people might make plans because they have extra time off from work or school.  Also, keep in mind that schools have different schedules for winter break and spring break. If you let your guests know your special date before they make other plans, it’s more likely that they will choose to attend your child’s bar mitzvah.

But even if you are only having a small party to celebrate this rite of passage in your child’s life, with local people attending, you might still want to send bar mitzvah save the date cards anyway. Why, because they’re fun!  It’s your first chance to announce this event in a big way and get your guests excited about sharing this special day.

Valentines Day Date Ideas

This Valentine’s Day do something ‘different’, something that you would not do usually.

In an age when dinner and a movie are the norm for a date, coming up with a fun date for Valentine’s Day can be hard.

Visit the nearest zoo – yes you read it right-the nearest zoo. The zoo does bring back memories of school excursions and so on and you may not think that it would be a fun date idea, but filled with exotic animals, the zoo is a great place to spend quality  time together; admiring and learning about different animals while you get to know each other better.

Get Pampered. Visit a spa together. Everyone loves to be pampered. The spa’s ambience and treatments which emphasizes on your comfort and relaxation is guaranteed to create a romantic atmosphere.

If you must do the restaurant routine try to be on the move: Instead of staying at one restaurant for a whole evening, plan that you have your dinner at various restaurants: have appetizers at one place, then move somewhere else for dinner and to a third place for dessert.

Go bowling: Even if you’ve never been or don’t know how to do it going bowling together would make a perfect date since it allows you both to be active. It’s also fun to teach each other how to play, which can be quite romantic.

Plan and going on a picnic with your loved one: Picnics are a great, inexpensive way to enjoy a meal together under the sun or moonlit sky and can be incredibly romantic.
