57% of Singles Surveyed by Match.com Believe It’s OK to Flirt at the Company Holiday Party: Men Are More Likely Than Women to Have Had Regrets About Getting Overly Amorous With a Co-Worker

In a recent survey of 1,300 singles by online dating service Match.com, 57% indicated it’s OK to flirt at the company holiday party.  And while 18% believe one should be well behaved and professional while attending the office party, 17% believe it’s OK to kiss a co-worker, if the feeling is mutual and 8% believe that it is fine to be wild and kiss multiple co-workers.
“All indications are that singles will have more than the bottom line on their minds this year as they mingle with co-workers and enjoy the good cheer of the season,” said Trish McDermott, vice president of romance at Match.com. “For the 69% of singles who don’t have a date for the company party, according to the survey, Match.com’s millions of eligible singles might offer an opportunity to help keep romance out of the workplace.”
The majority of singles surveyed believe there should be mistletoe at company holiday parties, with men being significantly more likely than women to believe this.  When it comes to getting overly amorous at the company party, 14% percent of women and 23% of men have “morning-after” regrets.  Most singles indicate they won’t be taking a date to the company party this year.
